Apoquindo Minerals is developing projects in the heart of South America’s richest copper regions. The Zafranal Copper-Gold Project (recently optioned from Teck Resources), presents potential to be a large ore-grade copper gold deposit. Zafranal is located in the rich Paleocene Copper Porphyry Belt and has seen over 11,000m of drilling which have identified a 3km long zone of copper gold mineralization nearly 1km wide. Management is working towards a proven 2 Billion lb compliant copper resource by Q3 2010.
In Chile, the Company’s joint venture Antakena Copper Oxide Project comprises of highly prospective leachable copper deposits in a historic mining district in the Antofagasta Region's Coastal Range. Apoquindo estimates that sufficient resources have been already defined to sustain an annual production of 15- 20 Ktons of cathodes for a mine life of 8-11 years. A scoping study for this purpose is being scheduled.
