Apoquindo Expands Main Zone an Additional 100m West Intersecting 144m of 0.68% Cu & 0.13 g/t Au

- Hole ZFDDH10-012 intersects 144m (86-230m) of 0.68% Cu & 0.13 g/t Au, including 29.4m (100.6-130m) of 1.62% Cu & 0.19 g/t Au.

- This hole is 100m step out west of ZFRC07 and ZFDDH10, and expands the mineralization further west than previously identified

- Drilling to date at the Zafranal Main Zone has confirmed chalcocite mineralization 2,800m in strike, up to 600m wide and between 30 - 150m thick

Apoquindo Minerals Inc. (TSX VENTURE:AQM) (BVLAC:AQM), through its wholly owned Peruvian subsidiary, Minera KoriTambo SAC ("KoriTambo"), announces additional positive drill results from the Zafranal project located in the northwestern extension of the Southern Peru Copper Porphyry Belt near the city of Arequipa.

Today, the Company reports the drill results from 3 RC holes and 2 diamond drill holes.

Hole ZFDDH10-12 was drilled 100 meters west of the westernmost mineralized hole drilled to date, extending the Zafranal Main Zone further to the west than previously identified. Furthermore, it shows significant gold numbers continuing to the west.

The drilling to date has confirmed chalcocite mineralization for a 2,800 meter strike length at Zafranal and a zone of up to 600 meters wide and between 30 and 150 meters in thickness of chalcocite and chalcocite-chalcopyrite mixed zones.

Drilling through February has focused on a 2 km long segment of the 3.5+ km east-west trending intensely mineralized Main Zone; one of six porphyry copper-gold targets within the Zafranal project. The Company continues an aggressive drill program at Zafranal with the plan to drill 40,000 meters that will include grid drilling the Main Zone, testing of the east and west extensions of the Main Zone, deep drilling on the Main Zone, and testing several of the satellite targets during 2010.

KoriTambo can acquire an initial 51% interest in the Zafranal copper-gold porphyry project from Teck Cominco Peru S.A. ("Teck"), subject to Teck's right to earn-back to a 60% interest. The agreement also provides options for KoriTambo to increase its interest to 60% and to 100% if Teck does not exercise its earn-back right.

The Company has established a rigorous QA/QC program at Zafranal which includes the insertion of blanks, duplicates and certified standards into the sample stream. Core is photographed on site and subsequently sawed in half, with one half sent for analysis and the other half stored for future reference and assay verification. RC chips are split twice on site using a riffle splitter, with 25% of the sample being sent to the laboratory for assay and the rest stored for future verification purposes. All Zafranal samples are shipped to ALS Chemex's sample preparation facility in the city of Arequipa, where they are crushed and pulverized. Prepared samples are shipped to ALS Chemex's certified laboratory in Lima where they are analysed for gold, copper and multi-element ICP.

Dr. Tom Henricksen, consultant geologist of the Company and Chief Geologist for Minera KoriTambo, the Company's Qualified Person for the purposes of NI 43-101, has approved the information contained in this news release.
